Paro Rinpung Dzong

The fortress of Paro prominently overlooking Paro valley and river was built in mid 17th century.   Today, It houses the district Monastic Body as well as government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag

Kyichu Monastery

This oldest temples of Bhutan was built in 659AD by the Tibetan Emperor Songtsen Gampo.It is one of the 108 temples he built in Bhutan and considered to be  most sacred monastry in Bhutan

Chele La

Chele La is the highest motorable point in Bhutan, sitting 3,988 metres above sea level, between the Haa and Paro valleys. Chele La Pass with its amazing vista of snow capped mountain range and serene ambiance has become one of the must visit places in Bhutan.

Drukgyel Dzong

Drukgyel Dzong is considered as one of the most beautiful fortress built in 1649, The fortress was destroyed by fire in 1951.The restoration work began in 2016 and completed in 2023. Its not open for visitors as of now but can do short walk around the fortress

Tiger Nest Monastery

The Taktsang Monastery is one of the most famous touristic destinations of the country. The temple complex which clings to a cliff, 3120 meters above the sea level is the most iconic place in Bhutan and most sacred buddhist site.

Kaza Throm

The Paro Ka Ja Throm  (Vegetable Market, located beside the Ugyen Pelri Palace grounds serves as a Farmer’s Market for Paro. The market was built so that vendors can showcase and sell their produce in a vibrant community space.

Local Beer Tasting

If you like drinking beer or excited to taste some local beer, Namgay Artisanal Brewery is located opposite Paro International Airport and it's worth a visit. They serves  8 different varieties of beers. Their in-house restaurant also serves delicious meal.
